Russell "Russ" Owens, Executive Director, is one of the nation's leading experts in Risk/Threat Assessment Protocols, Corporate Security and Investigations and has served as an adjunct faculty member of the FSU School of Criminal Justice and Criminology.
In his previous professional role, Owens held the positions of President and Chief Operating Officer for IPSA International, a leading risk consulting firm, where he handled all of IPSA's domestic and international operations including investigations, consulting and protective services.
Prior to his retirement from International Business Machines (IBM), Owens was Director of Security, Worldwide Sales and Services. Throughout his career with IBM, he held various positions such as: Director of Security for IBM United States; Director of Security for IBM, Europe/Middle East/Africa, headquartered in Paris; and Director of Security for IBM's Americas/Far East operations. The numerous projects he completed for this firm have prepared Owens with an unparalleled expertise in global risk mitigation.
Owens has also held many positions in the criminal investigations arena, including Executive Director of the Atlanta Crime Commission, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) and Bureau Chief, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and Police Officer, Oakland Police Department, Oakland, California.
Owens earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from Florida State University and an Associate of Arts degree in Police Administration from St. Petersburg Community College.
