As Sr. Director of Consulting, Investigations and International for U.S. Security Associates (USA), John Keeney specializes in due diligence investigations, FCPA and Patriot Act compliance investigations and business intelligence research. Keeney has managed, coordinated and supervised investigations in over 120 countries on behalf of our clients in preparation of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and other investment/business opportunities. Keeney is also involved in management of complex litigation support and financial fraud matters.
Keeney joined USA in 2009 when the company acquired the consulting & investigations division of a global risk management firm. As an Investigator for the company, he participated in complex corporate due diligence matters, confidential background investigations, litigation support, and discreet surveillance/security services for venture capital, legal, and private clients. As a field operative for the global company, Keeney traveled extensively throughout the United States to perform time-sensitive onsite investigations, including researching and analyzing vast amounts of public records. During his tenure, he joined the firm's research department as an analyst and rose to the position of Managing Director in 2007.
Keeney began his investigative career as a Paralegal for the Investigations Bureau in the Kings County District Attorney's Office. There, he played an integral role in a specialized trial program that focused on vigorous prosecution in cases involving the attempted murder of New York City Police Officers. Keeney also supported numerous high-profile New York City Police Department investigations.
Keeney was awarded a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in Criminal Justice and a minor in Business Administration from Stonehill College in North Easton, Massachusetts in 1993.
