USA is a member of the 100,000 Jobs Mission, a coalition of major employers pledged to combat high unemployment among veterans, particularly veterans returning from Iran and Afghanistan. The 100,000 Jobs Mission was launched in March 2011 with the goal of collectively hiring 100,000 veterans by the year 2020. Hiring is on track to reach the 100,000 jobs mark well ahead of schedule. Careers for veterans at U.S. Security Associates are win/win opportunities for transitioning military personnel to deploy their leadership skills and training on the home front and for our clients to reap the benefits of that talent in their security services programs. To reach as many of these promising candidates as possible, USA recruiters are actively involved in a variety of military employment groups and programs.
We have been very successful in connecting with veterans and transitioning military personnel through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes program. Hiring Our Heroes offers everything from job posting and resume searching capabilities to hiring fairs, mentoring opportunities and much more.
USA also recruits new security officers and managers through the Hero2Hired (H2H) program developed by the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs and the Employer Partnership of the Armed Forces. Created to help connect service members to careers with military-friendly companies, H2H offers many forms of employment assistance, including job search tools, hiring events, a military-to-civilian skills translator, a career assessment survey, education and training resources, as well as a mobile app.
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is another excellent resource for our efforts to expand the presence of service personnel within our security service forces. ESGR was established by the Department of Defense to foster relationships between civilian employers and members of the National Guard and Reserve. USA’s corporate headquarters team has demonstrated its commitment to ESGR with a signed Statement of Support, and USA recruiters in the company’s 160 offices are following that lead by signing Statements of Support through their local ESGR representatives. Maintaining a company-wide network of relationships within the ESGR organization better positions us not only to reach the people we want but also to provide a level of employer support that lends itself to employee longevity and satisfaction.
We are also able to reach some of America’s best trained talent through Warriors to Work, a Wounded Warrior Project® program. Warriors to Work facilitates the employment process by helping us learn how we can accommodate veteran needs and lay the groundwork for productive and rewarding veterans employment.

Recently two USA employees had the privilege of participating as Guardians on Honor Flights. The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization that arranges free guided transport of veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Honor Flight provides veterans with bonding opportunities with others who have been in similar circumstances, life-long memories and a chance to be recognized and celebrated as heroes.
