That is the only word I can think of to describe your performance during the Hurricane Irene emergency.
I believe every request, whether from our local or national clients, has been filled. It is difficult to do better than 100%. And as you know, some of the efforts to make it happen were truly heroic.
I would like to thank every security officer who came through and delivered, because they are and will always be the backbone of our business. Our security officers left their families and homes to service our clients. That is what we do. That is what they do - - and it is that CAN DO SPIRIT that makes USA different and better than our competitors. WE CARE.
Our local clients saw something that can only be seen during times of duress or crisis, and that something is COMMITMENT. Especially clients in flooded areas, without transportation, without power, and vulnerable - - our security personnel are/were First Responders. In many cases, USA was the only resource for security, safety and general support.
I want to thank our National Account team. Alton, Marty, Jim, Lance, Tammy Dave, and the entire team were great throughout, reasonable and supportive, and I think impressed by your responsiveness. Also, Tom Vecchiarelli from Terry's LP Team worked with us effectively as well.
Kellye Girton, John Kamperman and Denise Cash helped get us ready with vans, cash cards, fuel cards, and other supplies, so we could be successful.
Hank Hiday, Neal Mulchrone, Deb Kalert and Tia Johnson-Waller provided invaluable expertise and advice up front before the storm hit, which helped us all anticipate what might happen and, in fact, it did happen.
The beauty of the entire process is that it was grassroots, ground-up. No one to "told us what to do;" we simply came together as one large team, one large organization, and we made it happen.
We all know we are not finished, not by a long shot, but now is the time to let you know how proud I am of everyone in the Northeast Business Unit.
This was a true emergency of unprecedented magnitude and it is my privilege to work side-by-side with each of you.
