ATLANTA – April 29, 2015 – U.S. Security Associates (USA) has been named a Gold LearningElite organization for 2015 by Chief Learning Officer magazine, a publication of Human Capital Media (HCM). To be considered for Bronze, Silver, or Gold LearningElite status, a company must perform above a benchmark standard for implementing learning and development (L&D) best practices for its workforce. USA, a national security company with over 50,000 employees, earned the highest distinction as a Gold LearningElite organization, based on execution and impact of L&D initiatives. USA was ranked No. 37 out of more than 200 applicants.
One judge who evaluated USA’s L&D practices comments, “This organization has embraced and leveraged virtually every technological tool available to support their learning operation. Examples included live sessions being streamed to classrooms nationwide, recorded videos, online training, social media/networking, smart phone quizzing, knowledge sharing via SharePoint and downloadable, digital content. Perhaps the most elite tactic is the eTutor online virtual classroom that replicates the classroom environment.” The evaluation team also characterizes USA’s use of quizzes and learning games as part of an extensive online learning library as “best-in-class.”
In a written scorecard review of USA’s L&D program, the judges applaud the security company for innovation in implementing effective L&D solutions. “This organization has a lot of novel ideas that it has implemented in Learning and Development. There is a direct correlation between L&D efforts and business needs and outcomes, which itself is hard to establish as a well-oiled machinery. . . . Overall, there are many fascinating ideas that USA has implemented well.” Several examples were cited, including the company’s use of short segment security officer training courses to provide “meaningful bursts of learning that can be quickly absorbed and applied.”
In closing comments, the LearningElite judges pay further tribute to USA’s application of technology. “What you have accomplished through the use of technology to reach a broad range of employees through multiple media and resources speaks volumes regarding your constant pursuit of appropriate learning solutions to drive outcomes.”
Recognition as a Gold LearningElite organization is the latest in a series of honors USA has received for L&D initiatives.
