U.S. Security Associates offers a broad range of onboard vessel and shore-side maritime security services, from emergency response planning to port maritime and vessel security services, with thorough knowledge of this unique environment.
Maritime industries deliver vital trade and transportation services, conveying vast numbers of people and goods every day. Ensuring the safety and security of port facilities, cargo ships, terminals, and cruise lines requires specialized maritime services.
Maritime security entails a variety of specific services related to access control, screening, compliance with federal and international regulations, and incident response, investigation, and reporting. U.S. Security Associates (USA) delivers a full range of services to meet the specific needs of the maritime industry along with operating within compliance of the Port's FSP (Facility Security Plan).
From the Maritime Transportation and Security Act (MTSA), International Ship and International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, and Emergency Response Planning, to piracy threats and health and environmental concerns, USA officers have the training, knowledge, and skills required to meet the security needs of the industry. The firm offers a broad range of onboard vessel and shore-side maritime security services:
A rigorous training and certification program ensures that USA security personnel meet exacting standards. Qualified screeners are certified across the range of screening activities. All officers go through the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC™) process and carry their TWIC ID at all times when working in the port environment. As part of our Maritime prescreening process, all officers complete an 8 hour MTSA training course through Portstar prior to working any MTSA regulated facility. Our MTSA training curriculum is federally certified by the Maritime Administration (MARAD) under the Department of Transportation (DOT). Officers are also required to participate in refresher training on an ongoing basis. Training compliance is audited to ensure all personnel remain informed, and their skills reflect the latest industry developments.
USA conducts rigorous personnel screening and comprehensive training specific to the command and control center environment. Officers at each site complete industry-specific and client-specific training and learn security protocols with a focus on advance planning, preparation for all contingencies, and effective communication to ensure a high level of awareness throughout the entire facility or vessel. All training, certification, and processes are based on regulations and standards specific to the maritime industry, including MTSA, ISPS, the International Transfer in Arms Regulation (ITAR), the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations Title 33 for Navigation and Navigable Waters (33 CFAR 105), and emerging anti-piracy guidelines.
Maritime clients benefit from attentive, responsive, and accessible management support. USA has local, on-the-ground executive leadership near every client port as well as 24/7 client support centers on both the east and west coasts.
